With Every Letter Review & Giveaway

With Every Lettter
Today, I'm delighted to share my friend Sarah Sundin's new book with you. With Every Letter is the first book in her new Wings of the Nightingale series. While watching Shop Around the Corner, she began wondering what it would be like to fall in love through letters at a soul connection. As she noodled on that idea, With Every Letter was born. Mellie is a woman who's never quite fit in and as a result is a loner who can't form friendships. But her boss is requiring her to if she wants to become a flight nurse. Tom is also a loner because of his past. He puts on a sunny front, but in reality he doesn't let people close.
Both long for someone who knows them deeply, and through anonymous letters feel the safety to open their hearts to another. Both Mellie and Tom are surrounded with characters who reinforce their fears and others who dig deeper past the walls they've erected. Both firmly believe that love will never be possible for them...but if it could be, it would be with their anonymous letter sender.
Sarah is a masterful writer who captures the time with breath-taking detail. The journey of these characters will pull you in and leave you rooting for them to rise above their beliefs of themselves and do what it takes to risk love. I highly recommend it for lovers of historical
romance.
Oh! I have an extra copy that I would love to give away to one lucky reader. Leave a comment telling me why a WWII set novel appeals to you. And if you still like receiving physical mail. Join my quarterly mailing list for a second entry.

{MORE ABOUT WITH EVERY LETTER}

Book 1 in the Wings of the Nightingale series
Lt. Mellie Blake is looking forward to beginning her training as a flight nurse. She is not looking forward to writing a letter to a man she’s never met–even if it is anonymous and part of a morale-building program. Lt. Tom MacGilliver, an officer stationed in North Africa, welcomes the idea of an anonymous correspondence–he’s been trying to escape his infamous name for years.
As their letters crisscross the Atlantic, Tom and Mellie develop a unique friendship despite not knowing the other’s true identity. When both are transferred to Algeria, the two are poised to meet face-to-face for the first time. Will they overcome their fears and reveal who they are, or will their future be held hostage by their pasts?
Combining a flair for romance with excellent research and attention to detail, Sarah Sundin vividly brings to life the perilous challenges of WWII aviation, nursing–and true love.

I love reading WW2 novels because my daddy fought in WW2. I love reading about the culture my parents grew up in.

I love historical fiction. Thank you for entering me.

Oh gosh, there are so many reasons why I love books centered around this time. Maybe it's the simplicity of life back then or the fact that I probably romanticize the 40s a little. lol! Yeah, there's just something about the clothes and the way they spoke and the all around feel of the time. I wish I could go back and live in those days for a while....which is probably why I absolutley love books that are set in WW2.

Thanks for the giveaway!

I don't know if I can pin exactly why I enjoy books about the war...there's something about another time in history. Gets me away from the troubles of today and lets me see that we've made it through worse. I also love the way America united during those days...it was a beautiful thing.

Getting something in the mail is always fun...much better than emails. lol!

I'm entering for my daughter. But I have to say that it's always good to remember those days. The men that fought for our freedom...the men who died for it. Reading a good book about WW2 helps us appreciate that more and remember it. Kids today need to be taught about it so we don't raise up a generation that doesn't fully grasp the sacrifice.

And getting some mail is always a good thing...keeps the past alive a little longer!

My love of reading novels set during WWII started as a teen when I read Leon Uris's Mila 18. It was the first book that had me in tears.

With Every Letter looks to be a heart warming story. Would love to read it!

The time period was just so amazing! There was an innocence to family life, and people were just friendlier all around. My grandma even remembers life in the town we live in now to be everyone knowing one another... I would've loved to have seen that!

Thanks for the great giveaway!

I just love the feel of the WW2 era... there's something about it that appeals to me! I love pointing out the clothes (the dresses were so gorgeous!) whenever we're watching a movie that takes place then!

My dad served in WW2, so I grew up hearing stories about it. I think that's why it appeals to me so much. I love to watch any movie that takes place in that time period, and I enjoy learning about the war!

Life just seemed so much simpler back then. Sure, there was a war going on, but everyone seemed so much more laid back and easygoing... I wish life was more like it was back then!

Thanks for coming and sharing your comments. I'm really enjoying reading why you like WWII novels. They're a passion of mine. As I start writing a new one this week, I value this feedback. Thanks!

I love historical fiction, but WWII is especially close to my heart. My grandmother was living in Coventry, England and my grandfather lived in Berlin during the war. I grew up hearing war stories from them and WWII books remind me of them.

I like reading novels set in World War II so I can learn more about that time period. Both my parents were teenagers during that time.
I've read a couple of Sarah's books and really enjoyed them. I'd love to win a copy of With Every Letter.
Thanks for the chance.

I enjoy reading historical fiction but I haven't read many books set during WWII. My grandfather served in the Navy in WWII so it would be neat to read a novel set in this time period!

I love WWII! I don't quite know where the fascination started but I do know it was fueled by stories by my grandpa from the war. He was in the 101st Airborne and was in Germany during the American occupation. He was also a pretty successful boxer while he was enlisted. He tells the funniest stories of just everyday life while he was in Germany. :)
I cannot wait to read this book! I read her last series while I was on vacation this summer and have been eagerly anticipating this one's arrival! :)
