Lightkeeper's Bride Review & Giveaway

I wondered how Colleen would top the Lightkeeper's Daughter, but Lightkeeper's Bride manages to do just that. The book is set in the fictional town of Mercy Falls, California, during the Gilded Age. The book opens with an overheard phone call and an abandoned one year old.

Katie's curiosity won't allow her to not follow up on the disturbing phone call. When she arrives at the house with her friend, she finds an abandoned baby and Will Jesperson, the new lightkeeeper. He claims to have nothing to do with the missing woman, but won't relinquish the baby who he says must be his brother's. He comes from the lighthouse where he just witnessed some piracy. Katie and Will join forces, for different reasons.

Throw in small pox, more disturbances and threatened harm, and the book is one I couldn't put down. The pages are filled with tension and characters that worm their way into your mind. The hopes of true love seem impossible when outside pressures, financial and parental, force them apart. Ultimately, the book is one of discovery and the courage to reach out and trust others and God.

A very enjoyable read that left me wanting more. Now if you would like a copy, leave a comment telling me why you want to read a book like this.

This book looks wonderful! Why would I want to read it? Well for starters, the characters name is Katie - too cool! :-D And if that's not reason enough, I have been wanting to read something by this author, but have not gotten the chance...yet! ;-) Please count me in!

Please enter me! I've never read one of Colleen's books because suspense is not my first genre choice, but these historicals have intrigued me. I'd love to read it! anne (at) annemateer (dot) com.

I want to read this and so does my mother and 14 year old daughter. I would love a free copy, because my daughter has such an insatiable reading appetite that I can't find enough really good quality fiction to keep up with her. She has been reading so much for so many years that I have a hard time finding things for her to read that are appropriate and she hasn't already read. Of course my pocketbook has a hard time keeping up as well ;)

Being one that doesn't always read historicals, your WWII books, Cara, and the Lightkeeper's Daughter have been working on me to change my mind. I just finished the Lightkeeper's Daughter, staying up past midnight because I couldn't put it down! So, now I'm geared up and would love to read the Lightkeeper's Bride! Happy Thanksgiving! :)

Colleen Coble was my first "new" Christian fiction author to read. I grew up reading Grace Livingston Hill & Emily Loring - good stories with gentle romance & faith. Thanks to Colleen's wonderful books & recommendations, a whole new age and realm of Christian fiction has been opened up for me to explore. It was through her that I learned of other authors, such as yourself, Cara. I thoroughly enjoyed reading "Lightkeeper's Daughter" and have been eagerly awaiting the release of "Lightkeeper's Bride."

Blessings to you both ~
